ACCEPTED GENERAL MATERIALS

Most ordinary household, construction, remodeling, roofing, landscaping, and cleanout debris can be accepted when it is disclosed in advance and loaded according to the rules below.

Household junk and general non-hazardous debris

Furniture and bulky household items, subject to approval and possible special-item fees

Cardboard and packaging

Metal

Cabinets and countertops

Flooring and carpet

Drywall and plaster that are not asbestos-containing and are accepted by the disposal facility

Siding and ordinary construction debris

Roofing shingles and roofing materials, when approved

Decking and fencing material, subject to wood classification

Brush, branches, leaves, and yard debris, when approved and kept within load rules

Concrete, dirt, brick, rock, asphalt, sand, and gravel only in an approved 10-yard heavy-material load

CLEAN WOOD - SEPARATE LOAD REQUIRED

Clean wood means unpainted, unstained, untreated, uncoated natural lumber and clean framing cutoffs. It cannot contain drywall, roofing, insulation, plastic, finished surfaces, adhesives, chemicals, or mixed debris.

Clean wood must be kept separate from painted, stained, coated, engineered, pressure-treated, chemically treated, or mixed debris. A clean-wood price or disposal category applies only when the entire load qualifies as clean wood.

DIRTY WOOD AND FINISHED WOOD

Painted, stained, sealed, coated, laminated, glued, engineered, or otherwise finished wood is not clean wood. It must be disclosed before delivery and placed in a separate dumpster for general or mixed debris. Clean wood and dirty wood cannot be mixed in the same clean-wood load.

PRESSURE-TREATED OR CHEMICALLY TREATED WOOD - PRIOR APPROVAL REQUIRED

Pressure-treated or chemically treated wood requires special handling and prior approval. It must be separated from clean wood and from other waste as directed. Do not load treated wood unless Crestline Dumpster Rental has approved the material and provided loading instructions.

IMPORTANT OPERATIONAL NOTE

Santa Cruz County states that treated wood waste must be separated from all other waste and that non-residential deliveries require a treated-wood disposal form and special delivery procedures. The website should therefore classify treated wood as “prior approval required,” not as automatically accepted standard debris.

HEAVY MATERIALS

Concrete, dirt, soil, brick, rock, asphalt, sand, gravel, tile, stucco, and similar dense materials are extremely heavy. They must be disclosed before delivery, kept separate, loaded only in the approved 10-yard dumpster, and kept below the clearly marked fill line.

Prior approval is required.
Heavy materials cannot be mixed with general trash unless specifically approved.
Heavy materials use the 10-yard heavy-material option unless the company gives different written instructions.
The load must remain below the marked heavy-material fill line, approximately 5 cubic yards maximum.
Overweight or overloaded loads may be refused, require unloading, cause a $175 dry-run charge, or result in additional handling and disposal charges.
Contaminated soil is prohibited unless separately tested and accepted in writing.

PROHIBITED MATERIALS

Wet paint, stain, thinners, solvents, and liquid adhesives

Gasoline, diesel, motor oil, antifreeze, and automotive fluids

Pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, and hazardous waste

Batteries

Propane tanks, compressed-gas cylinders, and pressurized containers

Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, or appliances containing refrigerant unless specifically approved

Tires unless specifically approved and separately charged

Asbestos or material suspected of containing asbestos

Medical or biohazardous waste

Explosives, ammunition, fireworks, or flammable materials

Hot ashes, smoldering debris, or burning material

Liquids of any kind

Sewage, human waste, or animal waste

Radioactive materials

Contaminated soil or hazardous cleanup debris

Electronic waste unless specifically approved

POLICY STATEMENT

Customers are responsible for everything placed in the dumpster, including material added by other people. Prohibited, undisclosed, mixed, contaminated, or incorrectly classified materials may result in added charges, delayed pickup, required unloading, or refusal of service.
